Steve Speirs

Ultra Runner | Marathon Runner

Steve Speirs is a British marathon and ultra runner living in Virginia Beach on the east coast of the USA.

Speirs started running as a teenager in the early 80's, initially as a way of keeping fit for High School sports. In 1982 his rugby coach persuaded him to enter his first road race – the Barry Half Marathon in Wales. He finished in the top 30% and from that point on has been hooked.

Speirs enjoys racing all distances on both road and trail, but since 2009 has thrived on the challenge of ultra distance events. With personal bests of 15:26:25 and 140.47 miles in the 100 Mile and 24-Hour events respectively, Speirs is still keen to improve and set new challenges.
